Jason Bailey: A representational impressionist painter of light, color and energy.

Step into the vibrant world of plein air painting with acclaimed artist Jason Bailey during this inspiring 3-day workshop set in and around the charming streets of Springfield, Kentucky.

Known for his dynamic, representational impressionist style, Jason brings scenes to life through bold color, expressive brushwork, and an unmistakable sense of energy. From quiet small-town corners to railroad tracks and riverbanks, he finds beauty in everyday places—transforming the ordinary into something extraordinary.

Painting primarily outdoors from life, Jason has developed a keen ability to capture fleeting light, atmosphere, and movement. His work emphasizes strong values, thoughtful composition, and rich textures—creating paintings that feel alive and full of presence.

“I want to capture the soul of a place—the quiet within the noise. Life is always moving, sometimes subtly, and I want that energy to be felt. The splatters, squiggles, bold strokes, and palette knife work—that’s how I see the world in paint.” — Jason Bailey
